Chorleywood Paper Lantern Making and Christmas Parade

Join us to either make simple paper lanterns to carry in the parade (below) or help us repair our existing lanterns.

Join Mockie Harrison as she teaches basic stitches, then helps you create a decorative embroidery ring using as many of those stitches as you feel confident with.
Three consecutive Saturday mornings 20th & 27th April, plus 4th May 2024. 09.30 - 13.00
The first session will concentrate on learning the stitches. The second will focus on design and starting your decorative ring. The final session should enable you to finish your creative materpiece.
Not feeling confident about creating your own design? Don’t worry, a pattern will be provided for you to follow if you’d rather sew that way!

Torn Paper Collage - Wednesday 10th May 2023

A three and half hour workshop that looks at the work of Deborah Shapiro and others. Starting at 09.30, we’ll be providing lots of magazines and newspaper supplements, but please feel free to bring along your own, this will be creative recycling! You may even decide to paint out large areas of colour that you particularly want to use. Tearing up the paper gives the finished work a unique character.
We’ll encourage you to create your own image or you can try re-interpreting an existing artwork. Torn paper will be glued onto mount board, so this could be a bit sticky, please wear suitable clothing!
