About CCAC

Chorleywood Community Arts Centre

We provide space and facilities for creative activities in our community, welcoming all ages and mixed abilities. Our groups include pottery, painting, life drawing and a variety of workshops - we are the community’s creative hub and welcome like minded creative people.

There are no paid workers at the Centre. We are a self funding Membership charity registered in 1968. We aim to keep our fees as low as we can. The Charity is collectively run by a group of volunteer trustees, who are usually group members too. As a charity we are committed to our constitution [view here] and welcome ideas, feedback and support, be that with time or donations. We invite all CCAC members to our annual AGM and all group leaders and any interested member to the Pottery and Art Forums that meet through the year. So there are plenty of opportunities to voice your opinions about how we are run! Click here to see how we organise ourselves

We own our building and a lot of time and effort goes into maintaining our 132 year old converted Chapel.

Groups and Membership

Everyone who joins one of our groups becomes a member of our charity.

Our eleven pottery groups are untutored but supported by group leaders and experienced members.

Five of the art groups have a tutor and one is untutored with an opportunity to experiment with different media on the first Friday of the month. There is also an untutored life drawing group.

Each group can consist of long term members who are skilled and knowledgeable to complete beginners who are looking to try something new. We encourage students to join us and enjoy developing new skills each week.

Cygnets Art School offer workshops and classes for children

Throughout the year we aim to offer courses and one off workshops on a wide range of subjects.

Over to you…

Our workshops are informal, relaxed and friendly. Members are encouraged to suggest topics or projects and be creative. We currently have space within our schedule to accommodate new groups (except pottery).
