Chorleywood Fine Arts Society Grant

Chorleywood Fine Arts has presented its Arts Society grant to the Chorleywood Community Arts Centre, which plans to use it to install some bespoke drying racks for its members’ paintings.

As the arts sector has suffered greatly as a result of the Covid pandemic, the Arts Society decided to offer all of its member societies a grant of £250 to donate to a local arts cause to give them a boost during the re-opening period following lockdown. Chorleywood Fine Arts decided to give its grant to the Community Arts Centre as it offers such a valuable resource to our local artists. It provides space and facilities for creative activities within the community, welcoming all ages and mixed abilities. Its groups, which are self-led and supported by group leaders, include pottery, painting, life drawing, silk work and much more – even a class on willow weaving is going to be offered in the near future.

As Chorleywood Fine Arts offers illustrated lectures and study days covering a broad spectrum of arts-related subjects, it seemed appropriate to give its support to a group of our local artists who are producing the work – the other side of the coin, so to speak.
